So Long Summer!

The past few weeks have been very busy.  Jeff has been out of town for the most part, as he is working up in the East Coast with people affected by Hurricane Irene.  Normally I'd be really stressed out that he'd be gone for so long, but Olivia is so easy to manage now.  She is such a happy baby and I love spending time with her.  It helps that I've been on several play-dates and have family close by.  And Jeff was able to join us on our little trip to Galveston.

Here's Olivia with two of her future Baylor Theta Sorority sisters, Caroline & Savannah.
Sporting her adorable leg warmers.  Thanks Jennifer & Caroline Howard!

Olivia is accomplishing many things.  We started her on solids and she now eats rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, and squash.  She did not really like bananas but we will try them again later.  She just discovered how to blow raspberries and she makes this noise all the time.  It is so funny!  And now I can no longer wear earrings or my hair down, as she immediately grabs hold of them and will yank real hard.

We took a trip down to the family condo in Galveston with some great friends; Kyle, Cece, & Max Scott, Thomas & Caroline Horner, and Keelan Scott.  It was a nice, relaxing trip.  We went swimming, floated the lazy river, and had fun people-watching on the balcony.  Olivia had a play mate and it was a lot of fun to see them interact.  Max just loves Olivia, and I think the feeling is mutual.  Maybe we will be planning their wedding in 25 years.

One of my favorite pictures of Jeff & Olivia.

See what I mean about these two?  They're just too cute!

We have many exciting things going on here.  Since I'm a stay-home-mom, I have to find activities to keep us busy.  I just joined a MOPS group that meets at Fellowship Dallas.  I had to miss the first meeting because I was out of town, but I am looking forward to meeting other moms, gaining some friends, and getting together with other Christian women.  I've also decided to take Miss O to the library every week for story time.  Yes, they even have story time for infants!  I went with my friend Robin and her two kids, Aspen and Landon, to her library, and it was a lot of fun for the toddlers.  Robin and I meet up every two weeks for play-dates, so we always try to find a fun activity for the kiddos.

It's been a wonderful first summer for Olivia, but I am so glad fall is just around the corner.  I am looking forward to cooking chili, taking walks in the cool weather, football games (Go Baylor!), pumpkin patches, the smell of leaves, and making new memories with our family!
